
The EUCISE 2020 Final Conference will be held in Bruxelles on March 27, 2019, h. 09:00 - 17:30, at the Conference Center of Hotel Le Plaza Brussels.
EUCISE2020 is an important milestone in the roadmap for the implementation of the European CISE – Common Information Sharing Environment and it is part of the Action Plan of the European Maritime Security Strategy.
Under the guidance of DG MARE and with the technical collaboration of JRC, EUCISE2020 has developed and tested a highly complex information exchange network, creating basically the fundament on which the operational CISE can be further implemented.
The project has involved about 60 European maritime authorities from 15 States; the international and cross-sectorial information exchange network is currently operating among 12 nodes both national and European.
During the event, a live demonstration concerning the exchange of information of the EUCISE 2020 Network will be carried out involving several national sites.
“Key results of EUCISE2020 and Vision of CISE future”
The EUCISE2020 project concludes its activities on March 31, 2019 and makes available to the European Commission and the European maritime authorities the results achieved: the network of 10 national nodes active in cross-sector and cross-border information sharing, the analysis carried out on the Responsibility to Share, the common software for the exchange of information and for the management of national sites, the process of European standardization of results already activated.
The conference will provide evidences on the results already achieved and of improved Maritime Situation Awareness.

On 12 March 2019, the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Farnesina will host EUCISE 2020 closing project VIP Day in Rome.

The European Commission and the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology are pleased to announce the 2018 edition of the Security Research Event (SRE), which will take place at the SQUARE in Brussels, Belgium, on 5 and 6 December 2018.
Under the theme "Making Europe a safer place: demonstrating the impact of EU-funded security research", SRE 2018 will demonstrate the strength and inspiring results of security-related research and innovation activities and how these positively contribute to the work being conducted on a daily basis by thousands of security practitioners.
The Security Research Event (SRE) will consist of two interrelated parts: a Conference in which the main challenges related to the theme of the event will be addressed; an Exhibition that will concretely support the conference's theme, featuring around 50 projects showcasing their results.

Euronaval is a trade show for the maritime safety and naval defence industry. It is held ever Paris-Le-Bourget in France’s capital and major economic hub. The show gathers an average of 25,000 professional visitors including VIPs, political and military representatives and government officials. Euronaval 2018 will take place between 23 and 26 October, 2018.
During the event will be presented EUCISE2020 project and a demonstration of EUCISE node.
A confirmed number of 355 exhibitors will showcase latest technologies, innovations and trends in this sector. Euronaval 2018 will be a presentation platform for a wide range of industry focused topics. This includes military vessel construction and equipment as well as naval warfare means.

The Secretariat general for the sea and the European Maritime Safety Agency will organize the Plenary Conference of the 2018 Mediterranean Coast Guard Functions Forum (MCGGF) from the 26th until the 28th of June 2018 in Marseille, France, co-chaired by France and Morocco.
This edition on “Maritime Safety, Maritime environment Protection and cooperation on Pollution response” proposes to look in particular at synergies between initiatives of the EU institutions and of the MCG agencies.

The European Maritime Day (EMD) 2018 take place on 31 May and 1 June 2018 in Burgas, Bulgaria.
Thematic stakeholder workshops are at the core of the conference. Stakeholders are organising 18 high-quality workshops (three slots with 6 workshops running in parallel) on the following themes:
The EUCISE workshop, titled “Achievements of the CISE’s Reference Implementation”, will hosted in the Maritime Security, Surveillance and Information Exchange session.
“EUCISE2020 project progresses rapidly towards demonstrating the added value of CISE. It aims to create a test-bed network of nodes connecting participating maritime Member States and authorities for cross-sector and cross-border information exchange; the first five nodes of the network are already operational.”

The Security Research, Innovation and Education Event (SRIEE2017) will be held in Tallinn on 14 and 15 November, 2017 providing access to innovation.
As part of the SRIEE2017, the European Commission organises its Security Research Event 2017 (SRE2017). The SRE2017 offers a Security Research Conference and Expo, where the European Commission presents their latest projects and policy initiatives in the field of security research.
In the SRIEE2017, the focus will be on how to reduce the gap between research and the market so that innovative solutions can meet the needs of practitioners and other users.

The ETSI workshop “Future Evolution of Marine Communication” will take place on 7-8 November 2017, in ETSI Headquarters, Sophia Antipolis, France.
This event will investigate how the e-navigation concept and the evolution of GMDSS affect marine radiocommunication and navigation standardization in the mid/long term, taking also into account future requirements in terms of capacity/rate for data transmission as well as security aspects which are essential for improving maritime safety.

From 11 to 12 October, DG MARE organised a Maritime Spatial Planning conference on the topic of Blue Growth: 'How to plan for a sustainable Blue Economy?'
The conference is aimed at both MSP practitioners, authorities as well as industry representatives. It provided a forum for discussion and exchange, and offered concrete examples and guidelines on how to apply MSP as a tool to accommodate sustainable maritime economic development.

On 5 and 6 October 2017, the European Union hosted the 4th edition of the Our Ocean conference in Malta.

The European Maritime Day (EMD) 2017 took place on 18-19 May 2017 in Poole, UK.
Over the course of the conference 27 separate workshops have been held across 4 parallel sessions related to one of the four core conference themes:
The EUCISE2020 workshop was hosted in the “Safety and security” session. It presented the state of the art in the EUCISE2020 implementation, its achievements and the users' expectations. Recommendations for a long-term operational phase have been provided, as well. Indeed, the EUCISE2020 project rapidly progresses towards demonstrating the added value of CISE, in line with its original vision as the pillar of the Integrated Maritime Policy, with a genuine approach to neutral cross-sector and cross-border interoperability between national systems.
The EUCISE workshop was well attended and the audience included DG MARE representative Mr. Christos Economou, and EMD Safety and Security assigned rapporteur Mr. Jean-Marie Lhuissier.

DG MARE - Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission - launched a public consultation concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of the European Fisheries Fund (EFF) operational programmes and their impact.
The consultation aims at receiving feedbacks from the public opinion about the future of the EMFF (European Maritime Fisheries Fund) after 2020; the results achieved will contribute to the impact assessment of the programming period after 2020.

The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), is launching a call for proposals for the development of projects about the interoperability improvements in the Member States, concerning the information sharing for the maritime surveillance.
The principal objective of this call is to enhance the efficiency and the effectiveness of national authorities in ensuring safe, secure and environmentally protected seas through cross-sector and cross-border information Exchange, also through the connection of national systems to national CISE nodes and/or setting up such national CISE nodes.
The deadline for submission for this call for proposals is 31th March 2016 at 16.00 (GMT +1).

The European Maritime Day is the annual meeting for the European Maritime Community; in 2016, the conference will take place on the 18 and 19 May in Turku, Finland; the event will include a session dedicated to the general public, with several activities foreseen for the 20-22 of May.
The EMD conference is the occasion in which all the maritime communities meet in order to discuss and exchange good practices.

In the context of the collaboration between EUCISE2020 (www.eucise2020.eu) and the e-SENS initiative, EUCISE2020 attended the e-SENS General Assembly meeting, in Lisbon, on October 19, 2015, and presented an overview and the state of play of EUCISE2020, as well as its ideas to reuse e-SENS components. The leader of WP6 Fernando Marques (Directorate-General for Maritime Policy, Portugal) in representation of EUCISE2020 delivered this presentation, after an introduction to the CISE held by DGMARE.
