
The European Maritime Day (EMD) 2017 took place on 18-19 May 2017 in Poole, UK.
Over the course of the conference 27 separate workshops have been held across 4 parallel sessions related to one of the four core conference themes:
The EUCISE2020 workshop was hosted in the “Safety and security” session. It presented the state of the art in the EUCISE2020 implementation, its achievements and the users' expectations. Recommendations for a long-term operational phase have been provided, as well. Indeed, the EUCISE2020 project rapidly progresses towards demonstrating the added value of CISE, in line with its original vision as the pillar of the Integrated Maritime Policy, with a genuine approach to neutral cross-sector and cross-border interoperability between national systems.
The EUCISE workshop was well attended and the audience included DG MARE representative Mr. Christos Economou, and EMD Safety and Security assigned rapporteur Mr. Jean-Marie Lhuissier.

MariMatch at the international fair Posidonia 2016 is a forum for maritime stakeholders to promote business, technological cooperation or research partnerships. An online survey on Blue Growth in the North Sea has been launched in order to collect views and experience from stakeholders.

DG MARE - Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission - launched a public consultation concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of the European Fisheries Fund (EFF) operational programmes and their impact.
The consultation aims at receiving feedbacks from the public opinion about the future of the EMFF (European Maritime Fisheries Fund) after 2020; the results achieved will contribute to the impact assessment of the programming period after 2020.
The deadline for contributions is 18th May 2016.

The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) launched two calls for proposals:
The deadline for both submissions is 31st May 2016 at 16.00 (Brussels time).
The European Commission will launch three calls for proposals under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund to foster blue growth across Europe.

The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), is launching a call for proposals for the development of projects about the interoperability improvements in the Member States, concerning the information sharing for the maritime surveillance.
The principal objective of this call is to enhance the efficiency and the effectiveness of national authorities in ensuring safe, secure and environmentally protected seas through cross-sector and cross-border information Exchange, also through the connection of national systems to national CISE nodes and/or setting up such national CISE nodes.
The deadline for submission for this call for proposals is 31th March 2016 at 16.00 (GMT +1).

The European Maritime Day is the annual meeting for the European Maritime Community; in 2016, the conference will take place on the 18 and 19 May in Turku, Finland; the event will include a session dedicated to the general public, with several activities foreseen for the 20-22 of May.
The EMD conference is the occasion in which all the maritime communities meet in order to discuss and exchange good practices.

In the context of the collaboration between EUCISE2020 (www.eucise2020.eu) and the e-SENS initiative, EUCISE2020 attended the e-SENS General Assembly meeting, in Lisbon, on October 19, 2015, and presented an overview and the state of play of EUCISE2020, as well as its ideas to reuse e-SENS components. The leader of WP6 Fernando Marques (Directorate-General for Maritime Policy, Portugal) in representation of EUCISE2020 delivered this presentation, after an introduction to the CISE held by DGMARE.

A Conference on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from the 12th to the 14th of November 2015.
KMIS (Knowledge Management and Information Sharing) represents the union between the Knowledge Management, a discipline concerning the analysis of practices to identify, create, represent, distribute and enable the adoption and leveraging of good practices in organizational processes, and the Information Sharing concerning data exchange and communication protocols and technological infrastructures.

DG MARE published a consultationto gather input on how the EU could contribute to achieving better international governance of oceans and seas to the benefit of sustainable blue growth, and to develop a more coherent, comprehensive and effective EU policy.
